Macros:
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(”Need 102.4 combined avoidance. Currently at:”,0.8,0.8,1)
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(GetDodgeChance()+Get BlockChance()+GetParryChance()+5+(GetCombatRating( CR_DEFENSE_SKILL)*150/355 + 20)*0.04,1,0.5,0)
Pop Holy Shield and then click the macro, will let you know how close to 102.4 you are. Will work for warriors as well.
Random Mount and Crusader Aura:
/cast [nomounted] !Crusader Aura
/castrandom Summon Charger,Black War Mammoth
/dismount [mounted]
/cast !Devotion Aura
Add whichever mounts you want and change the last line to refelct which aura is used most often.
BoP Target of Target:
#showtooltip Hand of Protection
/cancelaura Hand of Protection
/cast [nogroup,target=player][target=targettarget,party] Hand of Protection
Paladin tanks need to be carefull with this one, if the mob targets the tank again really fast and you BoP yourself, you are fucked.

Popular Tanking Professions:
Jewelcrafting:
The highest stam gem you can buy is the Solid Sky Sapphire (24 stamina) which translates into roughly 240 HP. Jewelcrafters are able to craft Solid Dragon's Eye (41 stamina) providing 410 HP each, but only 3 can be socketed at one time.
If you are hurting to hit the defense cap, Thick Autumn's Glow (16 defense) or the Jewelcrafters Thick Dragon's Eye (27 defense)
Overall, taking Jewelcrafting can provide an extra 51 stamina or 510 HP over a non-Jewelcrafter or 33 defense.
Enchanting:
Enchanters are able to enchant thier rings with a bonus of 24 stamina resulting in 480 over HP
Blacksmithing:
Socket Bracer - adding a socket to your bracers, only one socket can be added per item
Socket Gloves - same as above, only 1 socket
So 2 new sockets, depending on what gems can turn into 480 HP ( 2x Solid Sky Sapphire)
Titanium Plating - adds 40 defense to a shield (need to look into this more)
Mining:
Toughness - at 450 skill level or Rank 6, grants a bonus of 50 stamina or 500 HP
Engineering:
Engineers have the ability to craft goggles for thier respective talent trees.
Armored Titanium Goggles
Binds when picked upHead Plate
1821 Armor
+73 Strength
+111 Stamina
Meta Socket
Yellow Socket
Socket Bonus: +8 Expertise Rating
Durability 100 / 100
Requires Level 72
Requires Engineering (400)
Equip: Increases defense rating by 60 (21.91 @ L72).
Equip: Increases your expertise rating by 43 (9.42 @ L72).
Equip: Shows the location of all nearby gas clouds on the minimap.
Equip: Slightly increases your stealth detection.
Use: Allows you to look far into the distance
Overview:
Most professions listed above are relatively equal in regards to buffing your tanking stats, mostly your HP. When it comes down to it, if you need a profession(s) for making money coupling anything with mining, excluding engineering would be the most beneficial.
